Gravity fed water games

Thor parc des estourants jet d'eau jeuxprojet PDF 4

LThe Parc des Estourants near the town of Thor in the Luberon has a branch of the Sorgue river running alongside it. The river follows a slight slope for 150 metres. This installation takes advantage of natural gravity of water by creating a capture point at the high point of the river and funneling the water down to the park. Even though the difference in elevation is only 1 meter, a precise hydraulic system captures the natural water pressure without the use of pumps and creates water jets that reach as much as 60cm in height.
